“Activity streams” – the system of displaying recent activities of your friends online.

Paradigm of activity streams : from Social Networks & the NEED for FEEDS

1. Archiving/Displaying your social gestures
2. Browsing/Navigating your friends social gestures

사람들은 다양한 웹사이트들을 사용 – blog, update their status, post photos/videos…  -하고 있다.

이러한 온라인상에서의 다양한 활동들은 다음을 포함하고 있다.

• a subject(actor)
• a verb
• a social object

Activity Streams aggregators는 온라인상에서의 사용자들의 다양한 활동을 republish 한다. (ex:friendfeed)

ps. 근데 dataportability와 open web은 뭐가 다른거야?

사용자들의 온라인 상에서의 활동이 Social Feeds의 형태로 결합되어 보여지는 서비스 – – Activity Streams – (meta-aggregator, 예를들면, friendfeed)에 대해서 요즈음 관심이 많아지고 있다. 게다가 Real-Time Web Search의 예라 할 수 있는 twitter search까지 포함해본다면, 새로운 트랜드가 형성되고(이미 나아가고 있는지도 모르겠다) 있는 것 같다.

보통의 마이크로블로그에서의 사용자 시나리오를 생각해보면,

1. 사용자는 컨텐츠를 포스팅, 태깅, 공유한다.
2. 태그를 통해, 또는 social feed를 통해 살펴본다.
3. 코멘트를 통해 논의에 참가한다.
4. 사용자의 컨텐츠를 통해 서로 연결된다.

로 볼 수 있다.

즉, 사용자를 연결시켜주는 공유된 매개체는 사용자가 포스팅한 컨텐츠이다. 하지만, 분산되어 있는 사용자들의 다양한 컨텐츠(User activity streams)를 쉽게 연결시켜주는 것이 바로 Social Feed이다.

사용자들은 Social Feed를 통해서 분산되어 있는 다양한 컨텐츠를 한 곳에서 살펴볼 수 있으며 이에 대한 새로운 논의, 또는 댓글놀이가 가능해진다.

Activity Streams을 통합하고 이를 기반으로 한 SNS서비스들이 생겨나고 있고, 어쩌면 Web Trend로 까지 이어질지도 모르겠다.
